Part 2 Aria (Xinrui) Li

Let us talk about Daisy Buchanan ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿ‘ธ

connect with the American Dream๐Ÿ’ž

Daisy lives in a luxurious๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜house after marriage. Living conditions were more extravagant๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– than Nick had expected.
Daisy loved money๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ and had a clear๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ understanding of the status of women๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿ‘ฉ in society at that time. That's why she let her daughter๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง be a fool. Daisy is selfish because she wants to have money๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ and pursue love๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“at the same time. Daisy was very beautiful ๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ’˜and charming๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—, which attracted Gatsby to her. She cheated๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š on Gatsby to have love and money at the same time. However, when she knew the real๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž identity of Gatsby, she immediately ran away๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ and returned to Tom's embrace๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿ™†.

The American dream shows that everyone wants their own freedom๐Ÿ†“๐Ÿ†“๐Ÿ†“  to be happy, whether it's religion, love๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ, or money๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘. It creates a fantastic but unreachable๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜ˆ dream, which lets people too eager to live a perfect๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿ’† life.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

"If he left the room for a minute, she'd look around uneasily, and say: " Where's Tom gone?"(47 Scott) Daisy is infatuated with Tom when they came back. Daisy wanted to let Tom stay with her all the time. She even had her little girl. The appearance of the little girl seems like Daisy and Tom's family is perfcect๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘, and their relationship became better than before. However, all of this is just a false appearance. "Tom's got some woman in New York" ( 17 Scott)
It means that Tom did not pay any attention to his marriage and family. His daughter๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง did not repair their relationship and did not let Tom care more about Daisy. His action hurt Daisy's
heart๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” and make his family complicated. Daisy wants to have money๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ and get Tom's loyal at the same time. So she cheated๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’› on Gatsby to enjoy the love๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ. But when she noticed the real identity of Gatsby, she chose the return๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰ for money. She is
materialistic ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘and only did everything to keep her upper-class status. Daisy pursues happiness๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž that money takes the most prominent๏ผ…๏ผ…๏ผ… part in it, and it is superficial. The American dream is easy to break.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To Daisy, her American Dream is to have money, social identity, and lover's loyal at the same time, which is hard to achieve because the one- Gatsby who loves her is already dead for her crazy actions.
She chose Tom, who has the experience of cheating๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š others not only because Tom provides
safety๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿฆบ and an excellent social reputation for her but also Gatsby wants too much from her.  They moved๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ซ to other places๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ for a new life, and Myrtle died๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ‘ผ. The gap๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ท between Tom and Daisy's marriage seems to disappearโœ‹โœ‹โœ‹. But will Tom never find another mistress and always loyal to Daisy? The answer is NO. Cheating is zero or a million times๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•. Daisy only can have the money Tom given without getting his faithful, and based on the status of women, and she cannot find another one to marry. Her American Dream is broke.

I think the whole of society ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ซshould be changed. Because whatever excesses Tom had, there is still one fact that cheating is totally wrong๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿ™… in the marriage, which is rude๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜– and disgusting๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค. I think the upper-class๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ group needs to change their mind. Everyone is at the same๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ level. Rich does not mean that you can do whatever you want. Tom represents the upper-class thinking which let society become worse and worse๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“. Their pride and arrogance destroy the low-income๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿ‘ท family to make the whole country in a mess.

In the religion๏ผŒsome religions which is small๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
, and people have a
fixed๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป influence to them equals the poor๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ด in the Great Gatsby. The poor were looked down ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡upon by the nobility. Because of who they are, they can't be treated fairly. Just like religious people treated unfairly only based on their beliefs๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ‘ผ.

    Hi!!!!! Aria, Iโ€™m Althea,๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

I think this is a good blog to help me understand the character named Daisy. ๐ŸคฉShe show the inner world of Daisy, and show the society help to create this character. She also compare Daisy with other characters, like Gatsby and Tom.๐Ÿคฏ This help me know Daisy was a vigour girl before and who or which make her become focus on money and classes. I know Daisy also want to fight with the classes before, so she do a good job about the character analysis. ๐ŸคจHowever, she did not show about her idea about American Dream. She only show the Daisyโ€™s American Dream and Iโ€™m not see the connect about her American Dream. She also not show the link with the media example. In addition, she did not show who need to change, she pay more attention on the analysis of the characters and the plots, but the American Dream is more important. Moreover, the blog can have more decorations to make it attract more people. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
