Part 1-- Elaine (Yuyao) Wang-- American Dream, an inhuman control

Hi!๐Ÿ‘€ This is Elaine's BLOO00OG!!!๐Ÿ™‹

Media shows that owning a house ๐Ÿก is the necessity
of having a happy life.๐Ÿ˜ฎ❓๐Ÿ˜ฎ❓๐Ÿ˜ฎ❓

From my perspective, the American Dream๐Ÿ’ญ uses the media to control people's minds๐Ÿ™…, by defining people's perception of happiness as material superficially๐Ÿ˜Ÿ. However, the regulation is unnecessary and a bit inhumane because it deprives people’s right to pursue the happiness they really want, not just the pursuit of material.๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ’ฐ

The models๐Ÿ’ƒ in the advertisements for cosmetics๐Ÿ’„ and clothes๐Ÿ‘— are always slim and thin. When I saw them on the billboard or TV, I always become harsh and inferior๐Ÿ˜ฟ to my own body. Since I went to junior high school, I went on a crazy diet๐Ÿฅ— for losing weight. However, my method to lose weight did not help me be slender as I wanted but made my physical fitness even worse.๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜จ

Thinking about it now๐Ÿ˜Ÿ, the advertisement ordered social standards for beauty to be slim and sexy๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž, which affect me deeply to put pressure on myself and make me feel inferior๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ. There is actually no standard of beauty, and it is diverse๐Ÿ’ช. The media piece controls me to chase this dream of being slim, which is superficial and one-sided.๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š

Just like the idealist American Dream which uses media as propagandas to regulate the public perspective of happiness, in October 2015, Victoria's Secret used advertisements to try to manipulate people's standards of beauty. It posted an advertisement on Facebook, with the model wearing Victoria's Secret "Cheeky" series of underwear with her back to the camera to show her sexy body ๐Ÿ˜ณ.
However!!!!!
People found the traces of the model's thighs and buttocks have been processed with graphics software in order to make the model's figure look more “perfect๐Ÿ’ฅ” ๐Ÿ˜ก.

DEFECTIVE❎                               PERFECT✅

This event pushed Victoria’s Secret to the vortex๐ŸŒ€ of public opinion that guides the wrong aesthetic ideas of people just like the way that the American Dream uses to regulate people’s standard of happiness๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. It is criticized as using women's longing for a beautiful body to sell the desire of "being sexy" to target consumer groups๐Ÿ‘ฟ. With its "Angel๐Ÿ‘ผ", Victoria’s Secret has created a perfect physical image in the minds of men and women, making its products instantly attractive๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ฃ.

๐Ÿ‘‰The American Dream used media to show happiness, and manipulated people ’s standards of it. The same is true of underwear advertisements. They all let people be controlled and lost the right to pursue their own happiness...๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ’ฉ

๐Ÿ‘‰I think the American Dream is presented in an idealistic way because happiness is hard to define๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. It is more like a spontaneous feeling from people's hearts๐Ÿงก than being framed by the material๐Ÿ’ฒ. Except for cars and house, everyone should have a different idea of happiness but defining it forcibly sometimes even causes damage to this society !❗!❗! Just like me,  influenced by advertisements that control the standard of beauty, blindly pursuing goals that are not suitable for me will hurt both my body and mind๐Ÿ˜ข. After all, How can a dream which stipulates personal wishes be equal and liberal?
